Still very new to NJPW and pro wrestling at large, Yuya Uemura has nonetheless made a significant mark. His striking good looks have blended with an impressive pace and athleticism to his offense.
After a months long rivalry with contemporary Yota Tsuji, both were entrants in the Young Lion Cup in September 2019.
In June 2020, Uemura entered the New Japan Cup for the first time, and entered Best of the Super Jr. 27 as a last minute substitute for the injured Yoshinobu Kanemaru. Although he went away from both tournaments winless, he continues to make great strides in his impressive strength and wrestling skill and has a bright future in front of him.
